PJ & Stuffie Day
Tomorrow is PJ & Stuffie Day...my only rule, your stuffie can't be larger than me!
Tomorrow is our last day of skating for the month of December. We are skating at 11:15 am. Skate tiers are welcome and please feel free to join us on the ice. If your child is interested in playing hockey, he/she may bring his/her stick and must have a helmet with a cage. The school has a couple of sticks to borrow as well!
Please have your child return his/her Home Reading bag. The Christmas Holidays are a great time to spend time reading books around your home!
This afternoon we continued crafting, why not, right? Our Reindeer Portraits are simply adorable!

Christmas Concert
What a great job last night, 2S! With several students missing, students were still able to deliver a super performance!
In Math today, students rolled dice to build a 2-digit number. They recorded this number and built it using base ten blocks. Table groups were then asked to order themselves from smallest to largest. We talked about how comparing the ten and/or ones in a number is important when comparing and ordering numbers.

Have you ever tried to catch a snowflake on your tongue!
Below is a copy of the poem Mrs. Stanksi sent home with your child. Students will be reciting this as part of our Christmas Concert. Please have your child practice.
It's winter in Canada
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At thirty below.
Oh how I love Canada
When the snow is up to your butt.
You take breath of winter,
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Canada
Cuz I'm frozen to the ground.
Spelling test - Due to the short week, we will continue with this week's sort, next week. The test will be next Friday, November 21st.

Rumpelstiltskin is tomorrow!
We are all excited for our first field trip tomorrow to see Rumpelstiltskin! Thank you to Mrs. Hugh & Mrs. Toogood for volunteering to keep an eye on our little ones.
In Science today, we had a demonstration where the students were able to observe that some liquids are heavier than others. All students predicted that when vinegar (with red food coloring), corn syrup and oil were poured into a jar, they would mix and make one yucky color. To their surprise, they observed that they didn't mix at all. The heaviest (most dense) liquid, corn syrup, was on the bottom, and the lightest (least dense) liquid, oil, was on the top! How cool!
Teacher Dawn is also back for yoga tomorrow! We are thrilled!
